SPYR Inc (OTCMKTS:SPYR) is a holding company that through its wholly owned subsidiary SPYR APPS, LLC, is engaged in mobile application and game publishing and development. The Company is currently exploring opportunities for additional acquisitions, including mobile application and game development, among others, in order to expand its holdings, to drive and increase revenue and to generate profits and build value for shareholders. On Friday, September 9, 2016, SPYR’s stock closed at $0.61, up another 5.54% today alone, on a little over a quarter of a million shares. This gives the Company a market capitalization of approximately $85 million. The stock is soaring, more than doubling since its mid-August level of $0.25 per share, but nowhere near its all-time high of almost a $1 per share. In fact, it's only trading at slightly more than half of that. Why has in doubled in less than a month? This week SPYR released a major update for its flagship massive multiplauer online game ("MMOG") Pocket Starships. With this update, SPYR will launch its much-anticipated marketing and advertising campaign that should drive new gamers to SPYR's real-time cross-platform game. This content update and the marketing campaign that will accompany it, mark the "official" worldwide launch of Pocket Starships.

As we have seen with the recent release of Pokémon Go, getting the word out about a new game can create quite a buzz and produce a great deal of revenue. The marketing and advertising of Pocket Starships will be crucial to its long-term success and the key to driving revenue for the game for years to come. If anyone had any question that digital games could drive revenue for the developers and publishers of these games, look no further than the $200 million in revenue that Pokémon Go produced in just one month since that smartphone game was launched.

Pocket Starships is the only true cross-platform game of its kind on the market. Pokémon Go ($200 million in the first month) and Clash Royale ($125 million in the first month) can only market to specific user bases defined by the limited number of platforms on which those games can be played. SPYR, however, can market Pocket Starships to users of many different platforms and devices, including iOS, Android, tablets, PCs, Macs, Kindle, Amazon and Facebook.

Pocket Starships is an electronic game playable on most mobile devices and in any web browser. It is played in real-time across all platforms simultaneously, and in the coming months, the Company plans to add eSports functionality. So, as you can see, there is no shortage of ways to play Pocket Starships and, in turn, plenty of opportunities for SPYR to reach a wide audience. If Pocket Starships is only able to garner a minor portion of the revenue that Pokémon or other multi-player online games ("MMOG") have created, it should command a significant valuation.

In addition to Pocket Starships, the Company announced that it has entered into a publishing deal with Kemojo Studios to publish its newest creation, the free-to-play action combat game, "Drone Wars." The benefit to SPYR will be that Drone Wars is a spiritual successor to "Drone: Shadow Strike," a game that has more than 10 million players. Ideally, SPYR would like to see many of those 10 million players give its other titles a shot as well, and this is where this publishing deal could be a big benefit to SPYR's real-time, cross-platform game, Pocket Starships. With Pocket Starships and Drone Wars, SPYR is creating a portfolio of potentially high profile games, and at the same time, making deals that are solidifying the company's position in the digital gaming industry for years to come. It might be the time for the Company to consider applying for a NASDAQ listing at some point assuming it meets all the requirements. Could we see SPYR head back to $1 per share or higher? Time will tell. However, it may not be very long because the stock is spiraling upwards daily. We will be updating our subscribers as soon as we know more.
