Last November on election day 2016, a total of nine states had cannabis laws on the ballot. Eight of which passed overwhelmingly. Of those nine states, only one, Arizona, did not pass the laws legalizing recreational cannabis. Arizona however, already has laws for medicinal use. There are now a total of 28 states, and Washington D.C. that have legalized the use of cannabis to one degree or another. And six more are expected to legalize cannabis in 2017. Most of the remaining states allow limited medical use.For businesses associated with cannabis, like American Green Inc (OTCMKTS:ERBB), the long term outlook for the cannabis industry is positive. American Green became one of the first publicly traded technology companies in the medical cannabis industry in the world, beginning in 2009, with the introduction of the ZaZZZ machine for automated, age-verifying dispensing of cannabis-based medicines. On April 19, at ‘The One Show’ in Las Vegas, American Green’s new proprietary verified vending system which includes the American Green Machine (AGM) or ‘The Ultimate AGM’ will make its public debut. The vending machine will dispense cannabis, and other regulated products by using bio-metric verification. American Green’s system is unique for three important reasons, all of which will be on display:

  • The market-leading interface is in use already, which many consider the most sophisticated operating system for smart retail currently available in the world.
  • American Green’s patent-protected process, created to enable the vending of controlled or age-restricted products has been designed to be ‘as good as a human.’
  • And lastly, to demonstrate the strength and versatility of American Green’s system, there will be machines from three manufacturers side by side, something that until now has not been seen in the relatively new market of smart vending combined with secure purchasing.

The one noteworthy aspect of American Green’s operation is its diversification. In addition to cultivating the cannabis itself, the novel idea of marketing the cannabis products via vending machines will definitely give American Green an edge. The idea can stand on its own. It can be used for other applications such as alcoholic beverages, and prescription drugs. The company also designs computer apps that assist users with finding dispensaries and sells a line of cannabis themed apparel. The end result is that American Green is seeking to capitalize on the legalized cannabis revolution in every way possible.

American Green’s stock price started 2017 with a price drop from $.0029 on December 29, 2016 to where the price is at now at $.0014, a support level that goes back to October 13th of 2016. Current market capitalization has dropped to $965.12k, on 643.41 million shares outstanding as of March 8, 2017.The unveiling of the vending machines in Las Vegas next month should give some indication of how the industry will accept the concept. There is a precedent for it, Redbox DVD rental vending machines can be found on just about every supermarket or drugstore premises. Whether its inside or in the parking lot, the DVD vending machines do very well. High-tech yogurt vending machines are also appearing everywhere. The advantages to selling cannabis via vending machines are worth considering. First, the area of marketing can be greatly expanded without having to lease store fronts. Consequently costs will decrease, including labor costs. Also, vending machines operate 24-hours a day. Another advantage for customers is the discrete nature of using a vending machine, as opposed to walking into a dispensary. Something that some customers would prefer not to do. If the idea catches on, American Green is very well positioned to take its vending machine concept to every corner of the country where cannabis is legal, and grow its company. We will be updating our subscribers as soon as we know more.
