AbbVie Inc (NYSE:ABBV), a research-based pharmaceuticals company, reported Monday that PIONEER II, a Phase 3 study, met its primary endpoint and demonstrated the effect of HUMIRA (adalimumab) in reducing common clinical signs and symptoms in moderate-to-severe hidradenitis suppurativa, specifically the number of abscesses and inflammatory nodules. HS is a painful, chronic inflammatory skin disease, sometimes referred to as "acne inversa" by dermatologists. It is characterized by inflamed areas typically located around the armpits, groin, on the buttocks and under the breast, the company noted. There is currently no cure for HS and there are no approved medications for the treatment of the disease.The PIONEER II study is the second pivotal registration study to evaluate the use of HUMIRA in patients with moderate-to-severe HS. Results from PIONEER I also found that moderate-to-severe HS patients treated with HUMIRA 40 mg weekly beginning at week 4 (after 160 mg at week 0 and 80 mg at week 2) achieved a significantly greater response compared to placebo at week 12. AbbVie Inc (NYSE:ABBV) is trading between a 52-week range of $45.07-60.02.Aerospace concern Lockheed Martin Corporation (NYSE:LMT) said Monday it received a $90.6 million foreign military sale contract from the U.S. Army. The contract calls for Lockheed Martin Corporation (NYSE:LMT) to provide Modernized Target Acquisition Designation Sight/Pilot Night Vision Sensor (M-TAD/PNVS) systems to the Qatar Emiri Air Force. The Qatar sale is an option under the U.S. Army's Lot 9 contract, which was previously awarded to Lockheed Martin in May. The M-TAD/PNVS was introduced in 2005 and it provides Apache helicopter pilots with long-range, precision engagement and pilot capabilities for safer flights even at night and adverse weather conditions.China Green Agriculture, Inc (NYSE:CGA), a maker of fertilizers and agricultural products, said Monday its subsidiary Shaanxi TechTeam Jinong Humic Acid Product Co. entered into a tripartite cooperation agreement with its business strategy partners Tea & Food Marketing, a subsidiary of China National Cereals, Oils and Foodstuffs Corp., and Xi'an Gem Grain Co. The new group will jointly grow the sales of fertilizers and green agriculture products. Tea & Food develops distribution channels for COFCO's agriculture products. State-owned COFCO is the largest food processing, manufacturer and trader in China. Xi'an Gem Grain, a subsidiary of the Xi'an Techteam Investment Holding Group, produces organic and fresh agricultural products. China Green Agriculture, Inc (NYSE:CGA) trades between a 52-week range of $1.80-4.92.
