Ariad Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:ARIA) shares are gaining after the European Medicines Agency recommended that its Iclusig product continue to be used in accordance with already approved indications to treat certain leukemias. Ariad Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:ARIA) said the agency confirmed hat the benefit-risk profile of Iclusig continues to be positive in each of these indications. The EMA also recommended additional warnings in the European product information to minimize the risk of vascular events."We are now well positioned to complete pricing and reimbursement negotiations in Europe and to ensure that Iclusig is available to appropriate Philadelphia-chromosome positive leukaemia patients," said Jonathan E. Dickinson, general manager, ARIAD Pharmaceuticals (Europe). "The authorized indications and the favorable benefit-risk balance of Iclusig give healthcare providers the ability to optimize the use of Iclusig in patients with resistant or intolerant CML." The shares are up 2.8% at $5.87 with a 52-week range of $2.15 - $9.83.The Gorman-Rupp Company (NYSEMKT:GRC), the water pump maker missed third-quarter earnings and revenue estimates For Q3, GRC reported net income of $9.4 million, or $0.36 per share, missing the Cap IQ consensus estimate of $0.38 per share. This is up from net income of $7.9 million, or $0.30 per share for Q3 2013. The Gorman-Rupp Company (NYSEMKT:GRC) also reported revenue of $110.2 million, missing estimates of $111.7 million but higher than $101.1 million in revenue for the same quarter of last year. Also, GRC increased its quarterly dividend by $0.01 to $0.10 per share, payable on December 10, 2014 to shareholders of record as of November 14. GRC last traded at $30.55 with a 52-week range of $28.19 to $39.36.Tompkins Financial Corporation (NYSEMKT:TMP) said Q3 EPS gained 3.4% as interest income rose and loans and deposits grew. Adjusted EPS for Q3 rose 3.4% to $0.89. On a GAAP basis, diluted earnings per share fell to $0.92 for the third quarter of 2014, a 3.2% decrease from the $0.95 reported for September 30, 2013. Analyst estimates weren't available. "Our core earnings performance, after adjusting for non-recurring items, reflects the best quarter in our history. Growth in several key business areas contributed to this success as we saw growth in loan and deposit balances, while fee based income improved for both the quarter and year-to-date periods," Tompkins Financial Corporation (NYSEMKT:TMP) President and CEO Stephen S. Romaine said. Net interest income rose 2.7% to $41.6 million. Non-interest income was $17.6 million, down 5.3%.
