Colgate-Palmolive Company (NYSE:CL) says Q3 sales were $4.379 billion, below the Thomson Reuters mean for $4.43687 billion. Adjusted EPS were $0.76, matching forecasts. CEO Ian Cook said "For 2014, we anticipate another year of solid organic sales growth. Given the recent deterioration in exchange rates, we now expect gross margin may be flat for the year and expect diluted earnings per share to grow 3% to 4% on a dollar basis, based on current spot rates." Over the past 52 weeks, Colgate-Palmolive Company (NYSE:CL) has traded between $59.75 and $70.11.Choice Hotels International Inc (NYSE:CHH) reported Q3 net income of $39.4 million, or $0.67 per share, beating the consensus Capital IQ estimate of $0.64 per share. For the same quarter of 2013, CHH had net income of $38.7 million, or $0.66 per share. For the same period, the company had total revenue of $215.2 million, missing the Cap IQ estimate of $229.29 million, and down from $216.7 million from Q3 2013. Looking forward, Choice Hotels International Inc (NYSE:CHH) expects Q4 2014 diluted earnings of $0.34 per share, vs. the Street view of $0.40 per share, and between $1.99 to $2.02 for the year, above the consensus estimate for FY 2014 of $1.95 per share. Shares of CHH closed on Thursday at $53.44, near the high of its 52-week range of $42.15 to $54.83.Imprimis Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:IMMY) a specialty pharmaceutical company, reported Friday positive clinical findings from two studies demonstrating the safety and benefits of Dropless cataract surgery. The company provides two proprietary compounded antibiotic and steroid formulations available in single, injectable intraocular doses administered during ocular surgery. The first formulation contains triamcinolone acetonide and moxifloxacin hydrochloride (Tri-Moxi formulation), and a second variation includes the added antibiotic vancomycin (Tri-Moxi-Vanc formulation).The first study evaluated transzonular injection of a combination triamcinolone and moxifloxacin formulation, with and without vancomycin, (Tri-Moxi / Tri-Moxi-Vanc) to reduce the use of eye drops following phacoemulsification cataract extraction with IOL implantation. The results include improved patient compliance, reduced costs to the patient, and decreased post-operative care. No patients developed endophthalmitis and 98% remained free from cystoid macular edema (CME) and inflammation.The second study evaluated 200 cataract procedures in 129 patients without pre-existing macular pathology, imaged with retinal OCT immediately following surgery and at one day, one week, one month, and two months following uncomplicated surgery. The study concluded that transzonular triamcinolone acetonide is a safe alternative to post-operative topical steroids and NSAIDs for the prevention of CME in uncomplicated cataract surgery. The results were presented at the recent American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) annual meeting held in Chicago, Illinois.
