Inflight internet connectivity has made steady improvements over the past few years mainly due to the demand by the traveling public. It seems that people have become so dependent upon their on-line devices that being disconnected or “off-line,” even for the duration of a short flight is unacceptable to some. It logically follows that the technology to fill this demand would eventually emerge.Airborne Wireless Network Inc (OTCMKTS:ABWN) intends to create a high-speed broadband airborne wireless network by linking commercial aircraft in flight. Each aircraft participating in the network will act as an airborne repeater or router, sending and receiving broadband signals from one aircraft to the next and creating a digital superhighway in the sky. Since December 20th of 2016, Airborne Wireless Network’s stock price has had two strong rallies, both with strong volume. Each rally was followed by a retracement, no doubt as a result of profit taking, but both times the retracement ended with the stock price higher than when the rally started. The most recent rally started at $1.14 on January 14, 2017, hit a high of $4.07 on February 23rd, and retraced to $1.68. The stock is now trading at $2.55. The financials are still pre-revenue; however, the company does have plenty of cash on the balance sheet to execute its plan. Current market capitalization stands at $198.32 million, on 77.77 million shares outstanding as of March 13, 2017Appointing Michael Warren as CEO, a leader whose background includes leading organizations of a scale much greater what Airborne Wireless Network currently is, gives a strong indication of the growth expectation from within the company.
